MONDAY, 6/11 FIGHT ANTI-MUSLIM BIGOTRY!
THE MICHAEL WILLIAMS TRIAL CONTINUES

The trial of Michael Williams continues Monday. Please come and show your support forMichael and the girls testifying in his defense. One of the many young Muslim women Michael defended from the racist complainant on Jan. 11, 2010, took the stand on Friday. Despite the assistant DA’s bullying, her words and photographs clearly refuted the false and illogical chain of events presented by the prosecution, which sought to portray Michael, the hero of the day, as the aggressor.

But the Manhattan DA’s office is unfazed by the truth. Guided by a blatantly political agenda, the state is still trying to send Michael to prison for up to 25 years. On Monday June 11, a Muslim teenage girl attacked by the complainant will take the stand to tell the Jury what really happened.  Please come to the trial and show your support.

Financial donations are also urgently needed for Michael’s defense. If you can help, please go to paypal.com, click “Send Money” then “Send Money Online.” On the right put “acpollack2@juno.com” in the “To [email]” field.

MICHAEL WILLIAMS SPOKE OUT WHEN HE SAW A BIGOT HARASSING YOUNG MUSLIM WOMEN.

MONDAY JUNE 11th, 9:30 AM, 111 CENTRE STREET  ROOM 631 PART 48

Michael Williams is a hero. On Jan.9, 2011, this gentle father of two, a union painter,  saw Muslim-hating bigot Joe Kenny harassing and abusing a group of teenage Arab women who were going for pizza after a rally commemorating the massacre of Gaza.

Michael, a passionate believer in human rights, had traveled all the way from his home near Boston to take part in that rally. He had a bullhorn.  When he heard the bigot harassing young women, Michael  said over his bullhorn that they had a right to be here and say what they believed. The outraged bigot then followed Michael into the street, physically assaulted Michael and left with his bullhorn. Despite the pleas of the girls he was protecting, Michael was arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree, a B Felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, because the Kenny’s son had watched his father assault Michael .For carrying out his civic duty, Michael faces up to 15 years in prison. The DA is carrying out a blatantly political prosecution, based on anti-Muslim and anti-Arab prejudice rather than the facts of the case.

Human rights advocate Lamis Jamal Deek of the National Lawyers Guild executive committee is defending him. The trial continues Monday.  Please come to court to show your concern and solidarity.

Please refrain from political signs or clothing, but please come show your solidarity.
