May 1: March for Palestine + Immigrants’ and Workers’ Rights

Al-Awda NY, the Palestine Right to Return Coalition, is proud to join the May Day March and Rally in New York City on May 1, 2011.  Join us! Bring Palestinian flags and banners and join us to demand status for all and justice for Palestine.

As a result of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, today there are millions of Palestinian refugees, many of whom live without status all over the world. Issues of status, forced migration and refugee rights have always played a central role in the fight for justice for Palestine. A key demand of the 2005 Palestinian civil society call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) is for Israel to respect, protect and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.
Israel is a world-leader in ‘homeland security’ and border technology. Israeli technology and weaponry can be found at border fences and immigration detention centers in the U.S. and around the world. The BDS campaign targets these companies that profit from the exportation of Israeli apartheid.

Stand with Palestine and all immigrants’ and workers’ rights on May Day, International Workers’ Day!
