This film documents the lives of two survivors of Israel’s massive 23-day attack on Gaza that began on December 28, 2008. Mona Samouni, then 10 years old, and the filmmaker, Fida Qishta, then 25, represent the spirit and future of Palestine. 2012
Post film discussion featuring Felice Gelman, producer; Andrew El-Kadi, US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation; and Riham Barghouti, Adalah-NY. Moderator: Steve Quester.

Saturday October 19th, 7-9:30pm
Roadmap to Apartheid
By filmmakers Eron Davidson (Israel) and Ana Nogueira (South Africa)
 http://roadmaptoapartheid.org/

With a comparison between apartheid South Africa and the Israel/Palestine conflict, this documentary traces the future of one conflict from the past of another. Weaving the history of apartheid into the complex issues facing Israelis and Palestinians, it highlights the frighteningly similar laws and tools used by Israel and apartheid-era South Africa. It’s a dark picture of the present but offers hope based on the peace that South Africa eventually found. 2012

Post film discussing featuring Rebecca Arian, Jewish Voice for Peace; Father Khader El-Yateem, Salam Arabic Lutheran Church; Wael Mousfar, Arab Muslim American Federation and Arab American Association of New York

There will be an optional potluck dinner each evening at 6pm. Please RSVP to psumcevents@earthlink.net if you are attending the potluck dinner, and let us know what you are planning to bring.
